Four United States stamps — a 1¢ blue Franklin (Scott #9) and three 3¢ dull red Washingtons (Scott #11), ten cents in all — franked a folded cover mailed July 26, 1852, from New York to Messrs. W. J. Coleman & Co., Halifax, Nova Scotia. Nova Scotia #9 (2¢ dull violet, Queen Victoria), tied by a barred oval cancellation, on a cover mailed from Kentville, Nova Scotia, March 28, 1867, to Miss Fanny Foster, Woodville, Cornwallis, in care of B. Kinsman. Backstamped Kentville, N.S. (MR 28 1867) and Aylesford, N.S., the same day — this was strictly local mail, Kentville and Woodville both sitting within Kings County.
